I didn’t realize how much of a difference having a dedicated space where I make my art at home can make. It’s one of the pieces of advice that I usually skimmed over. As I start on a new commission I recognize just how important it can be! Making a work space gives you agency and customizing it to make it feel like it’s yours gives you ownership. I feel comfortable here; I feel like there’s nothing to judge me and I can let my mind wander.
I highly recommend making your own work space if possible. Find what helps you focus and puts your mind at ease. It can be very therapeutic and productive.
